Huy Nguyen, 18, of Fort Myers, was checking out the new iPhones on an
in-store digital display at the Best Buy at Page Field Commons.
“It does look like it’s a completely new phone,” he said of the iPhone5S.
He
just purchased the iPhone5 three days ago and isn’t sure if he’s going
to upgrade. But Nguyen said the graphics on the new phone look better
and he’d probably play multi-player games on it.
He was also impressed by the speed.
“Twice as fast is crazy,” he said.
New
Apple products and iPhones tend to cause a lot of excitement at Best
Buy, said Bradley Weston, the store’s manager. He expects the lower
price point will help, too.
“I do anticipate additional foot traffic and increased excitement,” he said.
And he thinks the colors will help the iPhone be competitive with other smart phones – especially among female shoppers.
Troy Barker, 28, of Lehigh Acres, said he prefers Android products. He currently has the Galaxy S4.
“They change one little thing and come out with a new phone,” he said about the hype surrounding Apple’s phones.
But
Ty Jackson, 37, of Cape Coral, said this might be the time to upgrade
his iPhone4S. He’s noticed his phone running slow, which he said is to
be expected after having it roughly two years.
Although a
lot of people are switching to Android phones – and he himself had an
Android at one point – Jackson said he prefers the Apple product.
“The simplicity of this phone, I can’t get past it,” he said.
He’s going to do some research on the new product and decide if it’s time for an upgrade because “I’m ready,” he said.
